Starting this fall, Newark’s Prudential Center will be home to the Grammy Museum Experience.
The first instance of the Grammy Museum in the Northeast–there are three others located in Los Angeles, St. Louis and Tennessee–the project will transform Prudential Center into an interactive venue that allows guests to explore Grammy Award history, and lets visitors test out stardom for themselves, from being onstage to interacting with various aspects of the recording process, including playing instruments or singing (interactively) with some of the music industry’s brightest stars and legendary musicians.
The 8,200-square-foot Grammy Museum will also feature multimedia presentations, public events and educational programming, and will highlight some of New Jersey’s most famous music industry stars, from songwriters and producers to the musicians themselves.
It’s of a piece with the Prudential Center’s effort to continue positioning itself as a “One Jersey” venue, home to the state’s only professional sports team and now, on the entertainment side, the site of a commemorative and interactive experience that celebrates the state’s leading entertainment talent.
