Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (New Jersey, 10th district) will host a monthly forum on the “All Politics Are Local” radio show own WRNU Rutgers Radio in Newark starting Friday, starting February 5th. Payne, Jr.’s segment will be called “Payne Report,” and run from 6:10 PM to 7:00 PM every first Friday of the month. Callers will have an opportunity to ask questions about government and politics.
Payne, Jr. will be welcome Congressional Black Caucus Chairman G. K. Butterfield (North Carolina, 1st district) to discuss President Obama’s 2016 State of the Union Address for his inaugural show.
“This show is a terrific opportunity to talk to millennials about the importance of politics, and to speak directly with my younger constituents about the positive impact government can have on their lives,” said Congressman Payne, Jr., according to a press release. “I’m going to take a lot of calls, answer a lot of questions, and have a lot of great guests. And through that, I hope to bring a younger generation closer to their government and to reinforce the importance of taking part in the democratic process.”
Added Bashir Akinyele, co-host of the show: “The Payne Report will give Congressman Payne, Jr. an opportunity to help people, and the hip-hop generation, understand the politics and policies of the U.S. government.”
