Cooking workshop for formerly incarcerated fathers and their children coming to Newark in early November

As part of the free recurring program, dads and kids will harvest fresh ingredients and prepare a meal at the Judith L. Shipley Urban Environmental Center on Price Street in Newark. The next event takes place Saturday, November 5th.

This spring and summer, the team at Gallery Aferro captured portraits of more than a thousand Newarkers in all five wards. Tonight, “Portrait of Newark,” an exhibit featuring 350 of those images, opens at 77 Market Street, part of the 15th Annual Open Doors Citywide Arts Festival.
