Downtown Newark’s Burger Walla, in association with creative events company Vibes After Dark, will host “Liquid Sleep,” an art exhibition featuring the works of Plainfield, NJ artist Chanel “Kenzie” McKenzie. The exhibition will take place at Burger Walla (47 Halsey St.) on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Zunyda, CEO of Vibes After Dark, describes McKenzie’s work as “mirroring her experiences, perspectives and passions which speaks to your inner essence and expands this reality to encompass limitless possibilities.”
The event will showcase McKenzie’s multidisciplinary art, which has included performance art, videography, audio, drawing, and painting.
“The art Chantel creates is not only visually pleasing. The subject matter, depth, and compositions are thought provoking,” says Zunyda. “Chantel has an extensive knowledge about her predecessors and spirituality that seem to innately be intertwined into all of her work.”
