IHOP Newark will offer free holiday meals to families in need during its “Breakfast for Dinner” event on Wednesday, December 19th at 6 p.m.
Owner Adenah Bayoh first launched the “Breakfast for Dinner” concept five years ago at her IHOP Irvington location, and has since expanded the event to her other locations in Patterson and Newark.
“I am from the city of Newark and it is my privilege to be able to give back to the communities that have treated me so well and honored me with their loyalty,” Bayoh said. “I want these families to know that they are appreciated and valued.”
The event has served more than 750 families over the years and Bayoh expects another 250 families will take part in this year’s event across her three locations. Each IHOP will also be giving away books to children.
Bayoh, who herself will be helping with serving duties, will be joined by other volunteers from the communities where the restaurants are located. “Breakfast for Dinner wouldn’t be successful without extraordinary support from our neighbors in Irvington, Paterson, and Newark,” she said. “We are honored to have the support of community leaders who raised awareness of the event and who are taking time out of their busy schedules to volunteer to help with serving and making sure this event is a success every year.”
The Newark “Breakfast for Dinner” event will take place at IHOP Newark at 109 Bergen Street, Wednesday, December 19 at 6 p.m.
