BURG is back May 1st with an expanded menu, loyalty rewards, new outdoor fire pit & more

Acclaimed Military Park burger joint BURG has announced its official reopening date for the spring. This Monday, May 1st, the restaurant will be back with new menu items and restaurant features for customers. The fast-casual restaurant launched in 2015 and was named one of the state’s ten best restaurants by Inside Jersey in November of 2016.
Along with its relaunch, BURG will offer an expanded menu. The restaurant will now offer a hot dog, the deluxe version of which comes with spicy relish, mustard, ketchup, fried onions and crushed Fritos. And BURG has also added spicy buffalo wings and nachos to the selection.
The BURG Garden, the outdoor seating area and bar that opened in 2016, will be back with its picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, and will now feature two fire pits to keep things toasty when weather is on the cooler side. Customers can also look forward to DJs and live music, said BURG.
BURG’s “MP” burger includes Califon Tomme cheese, grilled onions, lettuce and special sauce.
BURG will also introduce a new loyalty card program to reward customers for repeat visits: customers who buy five burgers will get a sixth one on the house.
“From our vantage point, we’re in the middle of all the exciting changes happening in downtown Newark,” said co-owner and executive chef Chris Siversen, whose “MP” burger at his Jersey City restaurant Maritime Parc were named “No. 1 Best Thing to Eat in Jersey City Right Now” by The Village Voice. (The MP is also on BURG’s menu).
The expanded selection and new amenities are intended to make BURG both a neighborhood watering hole and an attractive pre-event destination. “Can’t wait to welcome back familiar faces and meet new neighbors living and working here,” said Siverson. “Think of BURG as your go-to spot for Happy Hour, casual lunch dates and dinners, watching the big game or grabbing a bite before NJPAC and the Pru Center.”
The restaurant will also welcome General Manager Eric Manuelli, formerly of Red restaurant in Red Bank.
