Mark your calendars to apply for affordable apartments at The Willows in Lincoln Park
by Brick City Live Staff/February 8, 2017
One of the newest residential developments coming to Newark will begin accepting applications starting this coming March 15th.
Dubbed “The Willows,” the brand new affordable residences are set to open this spring at 395 Halsey Street. The project is a collaboration between Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District (LPCCD), Ingerman and BCM Affordable Housing.

The Willows will offer 60 low- to moderate-income apartment units plus community amenities, including a fitness center, recreation room, playground, sundecks, on-site management and off-street parking. The one- and two-bedroom apartments will also cater to artists, and include set-aside artist spaces throughout the residential community.
Ingerman is the developer for nearly four dozen residential communities in the state, including Lincoln Park, the four-building, 70-unit affordable apartment community located on the park at Washington and Spruce Streets.

LPCCD Executive Director Anthony Smith remarked to attendees of a recent hardhat tour of the apartments that new residences in Lincoln Park add a “critical mass of people” that represent a “new dynamic” in the neighborhood. Building a residential community is one prong of a community development strategy that also includes creative placemaking, most notably in the form of the Lincoln Park Music Festival, which will celebrate its 12th anniversary in 2017.
Check back for more details as The Willows apartment applications become available.
