Scholarship for IT training classes with NJIT available for September

Workforce Opportunity Services will be offering a scholarship to entry level IT training classes starting in Newark on September 7.

This opportunity pays for a 36-week training program to prepare for roles as IT specialists. Those selected for the program will receive free training from NJIT and then work at the sponsoring corporation.

Participants who successfully complete the program can be hired as IT specialists at the sponsoring company.

Successful program participants will receive a stipend throughout the training, employer provided health insurance, college tuition benefit, valuable work experience in a corporate environment as an IT professional.

Interested applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, be a United States citizen, be able to pass a background check, and be “motivated to succeed.”

Workforce Opportunity Services is an organization that offers work-study programs that allow students to gain work experience in the IT field while at the same time earning a certificate from NJIT.

Admission to the program is highly competitive. Space is limited, so you can apply online now on the Workforce Opportunity Services’ website. For more information you can contact Steven Horowitz by calling 609-418-4668, or emailing steven.1.horowitz@wforce.org.
