Chipotle just celebrated their first month downtown Newark. Here’s our quick Q&A with them

The Chipotle Mexican Grill located on 218 Market Street recently celebrated its one-month anniversary. I asked Danielle Winslow, PR and Marketing consultant at Chipotle Mexican Grill, about their experience here in the Brick City.

How do you like being here in Newark?

We love it. It has been a pleasure bringing the good people of Newark our menu of better food, from more sustainable ingredients, prepared using classic cooking techniques.

What would you say is the busiest time and day for the Chipotle in Newark?

It would have to be weekdays, and lunch has definitely been our busiest time.

What's the most popular item?

It would have to be the chicken burrito bowl.

What has the reception been like from the Newark community?

Our Newark location has been busy since the day we opened our doors on Saturday, July 19. We feel very welcomed by the community, if for no other reason than the excitement we’re seeing from customers.

Our vision is to change the way people think about and eat fast food by serving customers better food, from more sustainable ingredients, prepared using classic cooking techniques, and that mission has been met with enthusiasm by the people of Newark. Whenever we open our doors to a new restaurant, our commitment is to the community, and we are dedicated to being a good neighbor. We hope to see more and more new faces in our restaurant each day.

What made Newark a desirable spot to start a Chipotle venue?

We look to open our restaurants in areas where we think our business will do well, and Chipotle has thrived in areas around Newark, so opening a restaurant in Newark was a great extension for us.
